Kate is a lifelong creative who graduated from The University of the Arts (completing a degree in footwear design) however, her love of interiors, along with a chance course in lampshade making, lead her to start a lampshade making business literally from the kitchen table!

Inspired on a daily basis by the colours that surround her in the urban landscape of London alongside the beauty of the natural world Kate also likes to keep abreast of all creative trends from art to fashion, photography, music and architecture which all help to inspire her artistic direction.

Originally all of these wonderful designs were made by Kate herself, however, as the business grew the services of professional lampshade makers were employed leaving Kate time to focus on sourcing new materials and designing. All shades are handmade to order in the South of England by a team with over 30 years experience making lampshades working from a dedicated workshop. The team have the highest level of expertise and all shades are finished to the highest quality standards.

All of the components in Kates lampshades are UK produced and Kate works tirelessly to keep innovating with new styles and designs. This, along with her exuberant love of colour and fabulous sense of style ensure the designs in her shop are NEVER generic and that you will always find wonderful additions for your own home or to gift
